WAX TUBES
25mm diameter with a 15mm centred hole.
Green Wax: The hardest of the 3, Will hold lots of fine details and can be polished to a high shine.
Melting point is about 109 degres. It goes liquid very fast without going through a sticky phase. When filed, the particles come off as a powder so less likely to clog the burr or file. Can crack or break if removing large chunks and not very flexible.
Purple Wax: More flexible and softer than the green wax so more easily carved. Good for larger pieces of jewellery or small statuettes as less likely to crack but will hold less fine detail than green.
Melting point: 109 degres, same as the green wax but goes through a "stringy" phase before becoming liquid. When filed, the particles are more like flakes.
Blue Wax: The softest and most flexible of the three Waxes. Will hold even less fine line detail than purple wax, but hardly ever cracks and caan be made very thin. Best choice for very rounded pieces. Never really gets as liquid as the other ones.
Melting point : 115 degres.
